Common Sage Intacct CSV Import Errors and How to Find Them
By The Rekeyless team · Updated June 2026
In short: Most Sage Intacct CSV import errors come from a small set of causes: missing or unmapped IDs, invalid dimensions, incorrect date formats, duplicate references, blank required fields and template columns that no longer match your configuration. The fastest way to find them is to validate the file against your current template before importing.
Missing or unmapped IDs
Customer, supplier, item and GL IDs must exist in Intacct. A name that has not been mapped to an ID is one of the most frequent rejection causes.
Invalid dimensions and dates
Dimensions must match your configuration exactly, and dates must use the expected format. A single inconsistent date format can fail an entire import.
Duplicates and blank required fields
Duplicate references and empty required cells are easy to miss by eye but simple to detect with a validation check.
Template and grouping mismatches
- Incorrect or reordered template columns
- Header and line grouping that does not match the import type
- A template changed after a configuration update
- Invalid amounts or number formatting
Review the error report
When an import fails, work methodically through the error report rather than fixing one row at a time. A validation step that flags every issue up front turns a slow trial-and-error cycle into a single review.
Worth knowing: If your Intacct configuration changes (new dimensions, custom fields, entity changes), your import template — and any workflow built on it — may need updating.
For official field definitions and template details, always refer to the current Sage Intacct documentation.
